Wheaton Man Found Murdered in Adelphi

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a murder that occurred yesterday evening in Adelphi.

On Jan. 31, at approximately 6:40 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 1800 block of Metzerott Road for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Joel Craig Brown, 40, of the 1100 block of University Boulevard in Wheaton, lying in front of the apartment complex, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, police said. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.  Detectives are currently working to identify a suspect(s) and motive in this case.
