Arctic Cold Front Brings Chance Of Snow Back To MA
Never mind that spring started a week ago. A blast of cold air this week could drag Massachusetts back to February.

MASSACHUSETTS — A combination of arctic air and precipitation will bring the chance of snow back to Massachusetts this week, according to forecasts — even with spring flowers poking up across the region.
After a day with temperatures in the 50s, an arctic front will sweep across Massachusetts Wednesday night and into Thursday, pushing temperatures into the mid-20s in some eastern parts of the state. Those low temperatures could also cause some snow squalls Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
"A strong arctic cold front will move across the region Wednesday night bringing some isolated snow squalls and gusty winds. Temperatures will fall sharply below freezing with the frontal passage with any residual wet surfaces icing or freezing up which could impact travel Thursday morning," the weather service said.

As of Tuesday afternoon, only Berkshire County was under any type of special weather watch due to snow hazards.
"Never the less, as the front approaches, southern New England probably will see a shallow line of convective rain showers that may end as a brief period of snow showers upon its passage as it moves from west to east," the weather service said in a forecast.

If it does snow, spring-like weather will return rapidly. Temperatures will return to the 50s by Friday, and above 60 on Saturday.
