Acton School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Acton is September 5. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Action School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

September

• 9/5: First Day of School
• 9/21: Rosh Hashana — No school

October

• 10/9: Indigenous Peoples’ Day — No school
• 10/12: 7-12 Early Dismissal for Prof L.

November

• 11/7: Prof. Day — No school for students
• 11/10: Veteran's Day — No school
• 11/22: Half Day
• 11/23 & 11/24: Thanksgiving Recess — No school

December

• 12/14 & 12/19: Jr. High Early Dismissal for Confs
• 12/25-1/1: Winter Recess — No school

January

• 1/2: Schools Open
• 1/5: JH Early Dismissal (Confs are Jan 4)
• 1/15: Martin Luther King Day — No school

February

• 2/8: Grades 7-12 Early Dismissal for Prof L.
• 2/19: Presidents' Day — No school
• 2/19-2/23: Winter Recess — No school

March

• 3/27-3/29: HS Late Start, only for students not taking MCAS
• 3/30: Good Friday — No school

April

• 4/5: Early Dismissal for Prof L., grades 7-12
• 4/16: Patriots Day — No school
• 4/16-4/20: Spring Recess — No school

May

• 5/23 & 5/24: HS late Start only for students not taking MCAS
• 5/28: Memorial Day — No school

June

• 6/1: Graduation
• 6/18: Last Day of School (if no snow days)
• 6/25: Last Day of School (if 5 snow days used)
