Acton School Calendar 2018-19: First Day Of School, Vacations

ACTON, MA — The first day of school in Acton is September 4 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Acton School District has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

August

• 8/29 - 8/30: Teachers' Meetings

September

• 9/3: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/4: Students' First Day
• 9/10: No School (Rosh Hashana)
• 9/19: No School (Yom Kippur)

October

• 10/8: No School (Columbus Day)
• 10/4: Early Dismissal (Grades 7-12)

November

• 11/6: No School (Professor Day)
• 11/12: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/21: Early Dismissal
• 11/22 - 11/23: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/13: Junior High Early Dismissal
• 12/24 - 12/31: No School (Holiday Recess)

January

• 1/1: No School (Holiday Recess)
• 1/2: School Resumes
• 1/4: Junior High Early Dismissal
• 1/21: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

February

• 2/7: Early Dismissal (Grades 7-12)
• 2/18 - 2/22: No School (Winter Recess)

March

• 3/26 - 3/27: Late Entry for High School (only for students not taking MCAS)

April

• 4/4: Early Dismissal (Grades 7-12)
• 4/15 - 4/19: No School (Spring Recess)

May

• 5/21 - 5/22: Late Entry for High School (only for students not taking MCAS)
• 5/27: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/7: Graduation Day
• 6/18: Last Day/Early Dismissal (without Snow Days)
• 6/25: Last Day (with five Snow Days)
