
The community is invited to “Casta Diva” - a concert of music for soprano and organ/piano hosted by Mt. Calvary and our music minister, Olga France. We are delighted to special guest artists, soprano Maria Lyudko, and organist/pianist Yevgenia Semeina-Maroyan to share works composed by Bach, Handel, Mozart, Rossini, Puccini. Suggested donation is $20.
Special guest artist, soprano Maria Lyudko graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory (Russia) with honors majoring in musicology and voice. She received further training at the International Bach Academy in Stuttgart and at the Mariinsky Theater Academy of Young Opera Singers. She participated in master-classes given by many acclaimed Russian and European singers. Maria is prize winner of eight national and international vocal competitions. She is a regular participant of prestigious international music festivals and a regular jury member of some international vocal competitions. She performs regularly on radio and TV and she has recorded numerous CD albums and a motion picture soundtrack.
Special guest artist, organist and pianist Yevgenia Semeina-Maroyan was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. She first studied music at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory special school for gifted children, majoring in piano and organ. She has then obtained her Master of Music degree at the Longy School of Music and has completed a postgraduate program at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Prizewinner of several international organ competitions, currently Yevgenia is an official organ player with the Newton Highlands Congregational Church and teaches piano and organ.
