Liars & Believers rehearses 2023 show in Acton

Fresh off an international tour, the Cambridge-based troupe gears up for next season

ACTON -- If you spot a few puppets, hear some music, and spy some very creative types in animals masks near the barn at the corner of Arlington and Elm streets in Acton, you are not dreaming, you're getting a preview of the work of Liars & Believers (LAB), the Cambridge-based troupe that is gearing up for an exciting 2023 full of performances.

LAB artistic associate Rebecca Lehrhoff opened her home up for the performers to work on "A Story Beyond," which will run in February 2023 at the Foundry in Kendall Square, Cambridge. "A Story Beyond" centers on a young heroine who struggles to save her village from the looming Dark Cloud. The stories we tell create the reality we live, in an original fable told with music, masks, and puppetry. "A Story Beyond" features a new score by Nathan Leigh and dynamic puppetry by Faye Dupras. Inspired by folklore from around the world, "A Story Beyond" is a new fable for our time.

Working at Lehrhoff's barn are artistic associates Glen Moore, Rachel Wiese, and Jesse Garlick along with LAB's artistic director Jason Slavick, and executive producer Georgia Lyman. For more information on "A Story Beyond" and Liars & Believers, check https://www.liarsandbelievers.com/
