Participation, Tryout Info for Fall Sports Season

1. Nurses will be available to sign "Green Forms" on Aug. 6-7, 13-14, from 6-8 p.m. in high school main lobby.

The interscholastic athletic program is divided into fall, winter, and spring seasons. Within each season we offer a variety of sports programs. As a member of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA), A-B abides by the regulations set forth by this organization.

2. Here's what's happening at Acton Memorial Library on Aug. 6:

• 7 p.m.,  Film Masterpieces of the '40's, Meeting Room; Tonight's movie is The Bicycle Thief. Hailed around the world as one of the greatest movies ever made, the Academy Award–winning Bicycle Thief defined an era in cinema. Directed by Vittorio De Sica, it embodies the greatest strengths of the Italian neorealist movement. The movie will be followed by a discussion. Sponsored by the Acton Memorial Library Foundation. 

• 7 p.m., PJ Storytime--Storytime Room; A fun mix of stories, rhymes, fingerplays, music and crafts for 3-7 year olds. Just right for the end of a busy day; no registration is needed. 
  

• Grades K through 7 and 9 start on Tuesday, Aug. 27;
• Grades 8, 10, 11 and 12 start on Wednesday, Aug. 28.

The price for lunch at Acton Public Schools is $2.75; the price at Acton-Boxborough Regional Schools starts at $2.50 with tiered pricing to $3.50. Your children may qualify for free or reduced price meals. To apply, fill out the application form each school year.
