Five Things to Do This Weekend

It’s Friday and we’ve got some ideas to help you plan a fun weekend but, at the same time, stay local. From nature outings to yard sales, we are showcasing some enriching experiences this weekend for Andover Patch readers.

When and Where: Sunday, Aug. 7, 11 a.m., Ward Reservation, Parking lot at the end of Prospect St.

Why Go: Take the family to the top of Holt Hill on Sunday for some interesting and educational fun. Learn about geology, butterflies and more. This was sponsored by the Andover Trails Committee.

Where/When: Saturday, Aug. 6, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Why Go: Find all your locally produced fruits, vegetables and other food items at the Andover Farmers’ Market at the at their house on Main street.

Where/When: Saturday, Aug. 6 and Sunday, Aug. 7, various locations in and around Andover

Why Go: Go out and find a deal or two at a number of yard sales in the area. Find our weekend yard sale post at 3 p.m.

When: Friday, Aug. 5, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.,

Why Go: Stop by the Phillips Academy Andover tennis courts at 6 p.m. tonight and play for free. Any level of skills are welcome.

When and Where: Friday, Aug. 5 and Saturday, Aug. 6, 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 7, 4 p.m. Collins Center, .

Why Go: The Department of Community Services theater group has been preparing for all summer and they are now ready to bring it to the community. Go check it out on a variety of days.
