Gun Turns Out to Be Airsoft on River Road

The police logs for Saturday, July 16, and Sunday, July 17, contained two arrests and several small incidents.

The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public.

Saturday, July 16

  • At 3:24 a.m. police arrested David Wishnack, 32, of 3 Pioneer Circle, on Lowell Street. Wishnack was charged with a marked lanes violation on a state highway, failure to wear a seatbelt, failure to signal, speeding and operating under the influence of liquor.
  • At 7:16 a.m. an officer spoke with a homeowner about taking down yard sale signs on Andover Street and High Vale Lane.
  • At 2:51 p.m. a two-car crash was reported on North Main Street. No injuries were reported.
  • At 3:13 p.m. a motorist reported a possible water heater in the roadway on Route 125.
  • At 6:42 p.m. a caller reported hearing gunshots in the area of Pheasant Run.
  • At 10:02 p.m. police arrested Richard L. Panock, 59, of 170 Summer St., on Summer Street. Pancock was charged with assault and battery on a household member.

Sunday, July 17

  • At 4:08 a.m. a caller from a River Road business reported that an older gentleman came into use the bathroom and appeared to have the handle of a gun sticking out of waistband. An officer responded and discovered it was only an Airsoft gun, which is a toy gun that shoots out plastic BBs.
  • At 9:04 a.m. a two-car motor vehicle accident was reported on Red Spring Road. Minor injuries were reported.
  • At 10:27 p.m. a caller reported kids at a pool that were not supposed to be there on Shawsheen Road. An officer responded and the kids did have permission.
