US Senate Candidate Conroy in Andover Tomorrow

This press release was provided by US Senate candidate Tom Conroy.

State Rep. and US Senate candidate Tom Conroy (D-Wayland) set out to walk 600 miles around Massachusetts on July 2 and will be making a stop in Andover tomorrow morning.

Conroy, a third-term state representative in Lincoln, Sudbury and Wayland, is undertaking the journey in order to meet with folks from all walks of life and listen to residents from diverse communities in every region of Massachusetts. He is vying for the seat now occupied by US Sen. Scott Brown.

Conroy will be at the on Main Street at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

“This walk will be a wonderful opportunity for me to hear the voices of Massachusetts residents and listen to the issues they care about, the problems that keep them up at night, and the expectations they have for their elected officials” said Conroy.  “My diverse background in the business, non-profit, and public sectors, as well as my previous work overseas and in the U.S. Senate, have afforded me the knowledge and skills to solve the problems we are facing as a nation.  But I do not presume to know the minds of the residents of Massachusetts.  I want to hear their views on the challenges we must overcome, and their ideas for the solutions we must pursue.”

In addition to meeting with people individually and in groups along his walk, Conroy has been working with community groups on service projects in the towns and cities he visits.

Conroy began his walk from his home in Wayland on July 2. Conroy’s walk has covered or will cover towns such as Acton, Boxborough, Harvard, Lincoln, Sudbury, Leominster, Fitchburg, Gardner, Greenfield, Orange, North Adams, Pittsfield, Springfield, Monson, Worcester, Brockton, Taunton, Fall River, New Bedford, Plymouth, Falmouth, Barnstable, Brewster, Wellfleet, Gloucester, Newburyport, Haverhill, Lawrence, Lowell, Burlington, Andover, Lynn, Somerville, Arlington, Newton, Quincy and Boston, where he is finishing his journey.

Conroy’s website, www.tomconroy.org, will show his progress along the Town to Town walk, and will feature his live blog from the road.
