ARLINGTON, MA — The Arlington Affordable Housing Trust is kicking off of a summer of community engagement to inform its five-year Action Plan, beginning with a community-wide Affordable Housing Survey.

The Action Plan is a community-informed plan that will help the Trust prioritize actions and strategies to create and preserve affordable housing in Arlington.

The Affordable Housing Survey is the first of several opportunities for community members to inform the Trust on the types of affordable housing activities that should be prioritized.

The survey will be available through June 30, during which time the Trust will also implement a street intercept survey at key public events, transit stops, and centers of activity. Later this summer, the Trust will conduct focused listening sessions with key demographic groups, convene and share the feedback with Town boards and committees, and hold public forums to present and discuss the Action Plan.

“We particularly hope to engage community members who have the greatest stake in affordable housing, but may be under-represented in typical public meetings,” Trust Chair Karen Kelleher said in a statement. “We need their input to build an effective Action Plan and will benefit from having them involved in implementing it.”
