UPDATED: Officials Confirm: 1 Dead In Arlington Condo Complex Inferno, Investigation Ongoing
The cause of the four-alarm fire that killed one person and damaged at least 60 apartments does not appear suspicious.

County and fire department officials confirm that a yet-to-be-publicly identified man perished in the four-alarm inferno that decimated an Arlington condo complex in the predawn hours of Tuesday.
They also said the circumstances that caused the fire that damaged or ruined up to 60 housing units do not appear suspicious, according to WCVB Channel 5.

Officials also confirm the Brookside Condominium Complex at 1 Arizona Terrace began bursting into flames around 4 a.m.
Thirty-six condo apartments were either damaged or destroyed entirely, as were numerous vehicles in the building’s parking lot.

“Residents were woken up abruptly,” said District Attorney Marian Ryan, in a statement to the media. “Many of them heard pounding on their doors and cries to get out quickly.”
“This is a sad and unfortunate situation involving the loss of life in our community,” said Arlington Fire Chief Robert Jefferson.
“The Arlington Police Department will work closely with the State Fire Marshal, Arlington Fire Department, and Middlesex District Attorney’s Office to conduct a thorough investigation.”
