Police Log: Pothole Knocks Child Out Of Baby Stroller In Arlington

The following information comes from the Arlington Police Department.

Police Log, Friday, May 8

  • Wallet Stolen From Car, 10:44 a.m., Lakehill Avenue

A reporting party told police that sometime after 1:30 a.m. on May 7, someone entered his unlocked car and took his wallet off the dashboard. The wallet contained $150, debit cards, credit cards, and his driver’s license.

An amount of spare change amounting to $6 was also lifted from the vehicle. The victim had already canceled his credit cards, and officers advised him to keep his car doors locked in the future.

  • Mountain Bike Found, 2 p.m., Edith Street

A passerby discovered a green Vertical Equator mountain bike believed to be lost by its owner. The bike has been secured at the police station, and officers have yet to determine who the bike belongs to.

  • Car Accident, 3:24 p.m., River Street

Turning onto River Street off Cornell Street, a vehicle was struck on its passenger side, causing moderate damage. The other car involved had failed to stop at a red light, and was consequently cited.

  • Child injured on Town Property, 4:51 p.m., Broadway

Officers arrived in the vicinity of 310 Broadway to find a child, while in her mother’s arms, was already being treated by medical personnel.

Evidently the mother had been pushing the child in a carriage, which flipped after going over a pothole, causing the child to fall out and suffer a substantial nosebleed.
