Town Manager Adam Chapdelaine Staying In Arlington
Chapdelaine said the role of Natick town administrator was "not the fit that it appeared to be."

ARLINGTON, MA — The search for Arlington's next town manager was a short one, as Adam Chapdelaine has withdrawn from negotiations with Natick to be its town administrator.
"The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of excitement about new opportunity and a bittersweet feeling as I considered leaving a position and community that have given me so much personally and professionally over the past decade," Chapdelaine wrote in a letter to the community Thursday.
Chapdelaine was nominated as the Natick town administrator in a unanimous vote by that town's Select Board on June 14. But after entering negotiations with Natick, he found the job "may not have been the fit that it appeared to be following my several interviews with the town."

Chapdelaine, 41, lives in Dedham and has been Arlington's town manager for nearly 10 years. He previously served as the city administrator in Fall River.

"I am excited about continuing to work with the Select Board, town staff and the community on issues of critical importance," Chapdelaine wrote. "I am honored to be part of a team that is widely viewed as a statewide leader on issues of equity, climate change, community policing and responsible fiscal stewardship of taxpayer dollars."
