Manhole Fire Causes More Back Bay Outages
Around 30 NStar customers affected by second major outage of the day, according to the Boston Globe.

It was already a rough Sunday for Back Bay residents dealing with power outages when another outage hit about 30 customers Sunday night due to a manhole fire around 8:45 p.m., according to the Boston Globe.
Although a spokesman from NStar told the Globe the fire and subsequent outages were not related to the earlier outages Sunday, it did involve the same group of circuits and could have been caused by a cable fault or shortage.
Boston Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald told the paper firefighters put out the flames at the manhole cover at 461 Beacon St. after NStar shut off power.
