Boston, MA - Here's a new reason for your MBTA travel delay -- fire on the tracks.
The Boston Fire Department said it responded around 8 a.m. Sunday to the Mass. Bay Transit Authority's Back Bay Station for what was described as "a small fire involving railroad ties" outside the station.
Once the fire was confirmed, the MBTA halted its purple line trains until the fire was put out. Boston Fire used water extinguishers to douse the flames, and were clearing the scene by 8:30 a.m.
