Police: Allston Man Broke into Back Bay Apartment

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate a conviction. 

An Allston man was charged with breaking into a Back Bay apartment on Friday.

Boston Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering at 529 Newbury Street at about 12:01 a.m. on July 5.

Officers arrived and talked to the victim, who said that a man broke a screen, climbed in the apartment window and punched her several times. The suspect had been drinking and refused to leave the area.

Officers arrested the man after a long struggle. According to police, the suspect violently resisted arrest and punched the officers several times.

Nicholas Powell of 21 St. Luke’s Road, Allston was charged with breaking and entering.
