Police: Roxbury Man Charged with Assault and Battery
Incident allegedly took place on Yarmouth Place Saturday.

Boston Police responded to a report of a disturbance at 2 Yarmouth Place at about 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 29.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with a woman who had an injured ankle. Officers could see that the victim’s right ankle was severely swollen and discolored. When officers asked how the victim hurt her ankle, she would not answer. At this point, a man walked into the apartment from the back door.

Officers requested EMS, and once the victim was secured in the back of the ambulance, she told police that the man had pushed her to the ground during an argument.
During their argument, the victim told police that she texted her friend “call the police,” after the confrontation escalated so greatly that she feared for her safety.

The victim said that the suspect saw the text message and became enraged, ripping the phone from her hand and throwing her to the ground. The victim said that the suspect then left the apartment and refused to help get her car or see to it that she got medical attention.
Officers spoke to the man, who said that there was no physical contact. According to police, the suspect said that the victim tripped and fell while doing laundry.
Christopher Dejarnette of 23 Dubois Street, Roxbury was arrested and charged with assault and battery.
