Water Shutdown for Some in Back Bay Monday Night

Work is for installing new gate valves in Newbury Street at Clarendon Street.

The Boston Water and Sewer Commission recently announced a scheduled water service shutdown for several locations in Back Bay starting Monday at 10 p.m. and lasting until Tuesday at 5 a.m.

According to an e-mail from the BWSC's public communications service, the following buildings will be impacted:

108 Newbury St.

232 to 236 Clarendon St.

233 Clarendon St.

90 Commonwealth Ave.

110 Commonwealth Ave.

The work has been scheduled by BWSC contractor D’Allessandro. 

"The work is necessary to install new gate valves in Newbury Street at Clarendon Street," according to BWSC. "The work is in preparation for installation of new water mains between Berkeley Street and Clarendon Street."

During the indicated time period, if you are not in one of these buildings and you lose water, contact the BWSC 24/7 number at 617-989-7000 or visit the construction site to speak with the superintendent or on-site inspector.
