Grand Jury Hammers Marathon Bombing Suspect with 30 Charges

A federal jury returned 30 counts against suspected Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The 70-page indictment includes charges for weapons of mass destruction, murder and more.

"Seventeen of the charges authorize a penalty of up to life in prison or the death penalty. The remaining charges authorize a maximum penalty of life in prison or a fixed term of years. Tsarnaev is scheduled to be arraigned on July 10, 2013, in U.S. District Court in Boston," read a statement released by U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz.

Voters in Back Bay went to the polls on Tuesday for the special election that saw Congressman Edward Markey (D-Malden) beat businessman and former U.S. Navy SEAL Gabriel Gomez (R-Cohasset).

Markey won Back Bay big over Gomez and third party candidate Richard Heos of Woburn of the Twelve Visions Party. In Boston overall, unofficial totals had Markey taking 76 percent of the vote to Gomez's 23 percent and Heos getting under 1 percent.

Public Garden Ranked in Top 10 U.S. Parks by TripAdvisor

Readers of the website TripAdvisor have ranked the Boston Public Garden the 7th-best public park in the nation, according to a Thursday release from the city.
