What's the Lesson Your Dad Taught You?

Father's Day is right around the corner, coming up Sunday, June 16. With that it mind, we want to ask you the following question:
What's the lesson your dad taught you?
For me, it's hard to narrow it down to just one lesson that I've learned from my dad, Jim, who I still feel like I'm learning from after 27 years as the luckiest son in the world.

But for the sake of brevity, I'll list just one here.
Once, when I was young, I rushed through a project and produced shoddy work. My dad had me sit down and write the following phrase over and over again:

"It takes time to do good work."
That has been something I always try to keep in mind with work, with relationships, with accomplishing goals and trying to be a better person. In order to be what you want to be, it takes time, attention to detail, effort and perseverance.
