Former Red Sox star wants to strike out Massachusetts senator. The odds are not in his favor.
Curt Schilling's apparent political aspirations have specified into a focus on one of the country's most tough-to-topple senators: Elizabeth Warren.
This is the same Warren who landed a marquee slot at this year's Democratic National Convention after being vetted as a potential vice presidential candidate and being elected to her position by of one of the nation's bluest states. She's got not only demographics on her side, but the national financial backing to mount a virtually ironclad defense.
Schilling, meanwhile, has risen as an outspoken and, to some, offensive conservative voice, a platform only solidified since his ouster by ESPN, where he was a commentator. He's made mention of political aspirations multiple times on social media, most recently listing a presidential run among the possibilities.

Pushed in a radio interview to specify who he'd run against this, Schilling, as quoted on The Blaze, said: “I’ve thought about it, and I think one of the things I’d like to do is be one of the people responsible for getting Elizabeth Warren out of politics. I think she’s a nightmare. The left is holding her up as the second coming of Hillary Clinton, which the Lord knows we don’t even need the first one.”
