Elizabeth Warren, Allies Draft 'Hit List' of Clinton Appointees to Oppose: Report

Would-be appointees with ties to big banks are among those on the list, according to Politico.

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren might not be on the presidential ticket, but she reportedly still hopes to wield her influence on a hypothetical President Hillary Clinton's choice of appointees.

According to Politico, Warren and her supporters are tallying a "hit list" of the kinds of hires they'd fight.

Much has been made of the arguably greater influence Warren could exert by maintaining her place in the Senate, particularly if Democrats can eke a majority this November. This is an early example of what that influence might look like in practice.

"Months before the votes have been counted, they’re already exerting pressure on Hillary Clinton’s transition team over key hiring decisions," Politico reports. "Warren’s coalition is developing a hit list of the types of people they’ll oppose — what one source called 'hell no' appointments — in a Clinton administration."

Those reportedly include nominees tied to big banks, as well as corporate executives who would take on a regulatory role in their own industry.
