Elizabeth Warren Goes Off on Donald Trump's 'Racist, Sexist Tweets & Disgusting Lies'

Her latest Tweet tirade goes after "3 a.m. tweets." (In fairness, most were sent at more like 5 a.m.)

Calling Donald Trump a "thin-skinned bully"? That's nothing new for Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

But the Republican presidential candidate's early-a.m. rant and apparently glib reaction to critics seemed to get even her blood boiling.

Here's the background: Trump, in response to a comment from Hillary Clinton at Monday's debate, criticized a former Miss Universe winner lauded by the Clinton camp, and held up as an example of Trump's mistreatment of women.

Trump sent an a.m.-hours tweet slamming the Clinton camp's judgment in elevating Alicia Machado, writing:

That tweet was sent between 5 and 6 a.m. Friday. A previous tweet blasting the media went out around 3 a.m., but the early time-stamps seem to have been lumped together in the morning-after reactions.

Trump tried to shut that talk down with a riff on a 2008 Clinton primary ad:

Something about that response seemed to set off Warren, one of Clinton's most influential surrogates on the party's more liberal wing, and someone with the freedom to go on the attack in ways Clinton herself cannot.

Warren sent her usual volley of outraged tweets in Trump's direction late Friday afternoon, including one particularly barbed comment:

She went on to list the many other issues that she believe should keep a candidate up, from student debt to economic development, before taking the final swing:

... the final swing for now, anyway.

Donald Trump has long ceased taking Warren's bait, but you can bet that won't stop her.
