First Night Boston to Stop Operating, Lay Off Staff
The agency which runs the annual New Year's Eve festival has been forced to cease operations due to lack of funding.

Boston may have seen its last First Night festival.
First Night Boston’s board of directors said Thursday it does not have the funds to continue to put on the annual New Year’s celebration, according to MyFoxBoston.com Thursday. The non-profit agency responsible for the event will cease to operate June 30 and staff will be laid off, the site says.
The board will endeavor to work with the city of Boston toward finding a new agency capable of putting on one of Boston’s marquee events according to the news site.
