Gary Johnson, Bill Weld to Campaign in Boston

Libertarian Party candidate, former Massachusetts guv take Boston Common Saturday.

BOSTON, MA — Bill Weld will be back in Massachusetts and just a few feet shy of the gold-domed Capitol he once inhabited this Saturday, part of a campaign stop in the former Republican governor's new role as VP to presidential hopeful Gary Johnson, on the Libertarian Party ticket.

This will be Weld's first home-turf campaign event with Johnson, as the two former governors seek to push their message of experience-based electability.

According to a Facebook post from the Gary Johnson campaign, the event will take place at the Boston Common's Parkman Band Stand from 1-3 p.m. on Sat., Aug. 27.

Weld, of Canton, was in Boston earlier this month to submit the signatures necessary to get his and Johnson's names on the November ballot in Massachusetts.

There's a great feature on Weld's run in this month's Boston Magazine if you want a primer on what's happening. Check it out here — Bill Weld Has Nothing to Lose: A look at our former governor’s last (and wildest) hurrah.
