No cabinet post for her uncle, but Michigan GOP Chair Ronna Romney McDaniel looks to be next in line to lead the Republican National Committee.
President-elect Donald Trump announced McDaniel's appointment as RNC deputy chair on Wednesday, positioning her to succeed outgoing chair Reince Priebus.
Priebus, of Wisconsin, will serve as White House chief of staff. Meanwhile, McDaniel benefits from her hand in leading state that bested pundit projections to swing for Trump, as well as longtime public support for the candidate.

On the polar opposite end during the campaign was her uncle, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney. Romney and his niece's stances publicly clashed during the campaign.
He took pains to oppose Trump during the Republican primary, and despite being up for consideration, lost the chance at an appointment to Secretary of State.
