Belmont Public Library: Transgender Day Of Remembrance
Watch the film, then listen to panelists reflect on the film and their own experiences of being transgender.
November 3, 2021
On Saturday, 11/20 at 1pm, join us for a special film screening of Tangerine (rated R), followed by a panel discussion of the film, in honor of Transgender Day of Remembrance and Transgender Awareness week. In a 2015 comedy-drama, Sin-Dee Rella, a transgender sex worker, finds out that her boyfriend/pimp has been cheating on her and tries to find his other girlfriend. Unlike most films that portray sex workers as tragic victims, this film presents honest and endearing characters based on real-life experiences. Watch the film, then listen to panelists reflect on the film and their own experiences of being transgender.
