Police Log: Rear Ended by Hit and Run
Incident from the Belmont Police log for the past week.
Front end damage is a clue to discover the identity of a hit and run suspect who ran from the scene of two car accident Thursday nigh.
On Aug 19, just before 9 p.m., police received a report of an accident at the intersection of Belmont and School streets. When police arrived, they discovered a car resting against a nearby tree, its operator standing nearby. Upon further investigation, Belmont Police discovered the man was waiting at the stop light when a woman came up from behind and ran into his vehicle.
The female driver pulled over and after examining the damage to both vehicles told the man she had to return home to "get her license" and proceeded to drive off. She never returned.

Belmont Police are seeking to speak to the driver who was driving a purple PT Cruiser with front end damage to its bumper.
