Fens Fire: 1 Injured, Smoke Visible For Miles
A large brush fire broke out in the Fens park area by Park Drive and Brookline Avenue.
FENWAY, MA — Boston firefighters have mostly extinguished the large brush fire near the corner of Park Drive and Brookline Avenue in the Fens park area that injured at least one person, according to fire officials. The thick, heavy smoke was visible from the highway and from downtown Boston.
Crews with survival suits went in the water to rescue a man who suffered burns.

Fire officials doused trees and the ground in an effort to take care of any hot spots.

State Police asked drivers to avoid the area and said detours would be established as fire crews worked the scene.
