BOSTON, MA — A Lowell man was ordered held behind bars on charges of rape and attempted rape Thursday after being accused of assaulting one woman and attempting to assault another within an hour near downtown Boston, according to a report that cites police.
The alleged rape occurred while the first victim walked down Huntington Avenue around 5:15 a.m. Saturday, after which the accused — 25-year-old Solomon Wambui — allegedly attacked and groped another woman as she walked through Eliot Norton Park, the Boston Herald reported.
Wambui will be held at the Nashua Street Jail until at least the end of February, according to the outlet.
