Water Main Break Floods Boston Street, Prompting Delays
Blossom Street from Charles Street near Storrow Drive up to William Cardinal O'Connell Way were closed this morning.
BOSTON — Blossom Street from Charles Street near Storrow Drive up to William Cardinal O'Connell Way were closed this morning in both directions because of a large water main break, according to police.
"The incident at Blossom Street this morning was a 12 “ privately-owned fire pipe, not a BWSC water main," according to Boston Water officials.
Officials said after an investigation, it appears the break was on a service pipe. Boston Water and Sewer crew said they have scheduled repairs for Wednesday evening to mitigate impact on commute.

No water services were affected, according to Boston Water and Sewer.
Police are asking drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area.
