2nd Braintree HS Headmaster Search Comes Up Empty
The second go around to find a new headmaster proved to be fruitless.

BRAINTREE, MA — Of the 31 candidates who took part in the second round of the Braintree High School headmaster search, none of them will have the job.
Frank Hackett told the school committee Monday that the search, which resulted in many applicants from the first search reapplying, came up empty, with the search committee determining that none of the applicants were a good fit.
“This is not something we want to rush. It’s a critical role we want to get right. If we need to take more time to do it we’ll take more time to do it,” Hackett said.

All options, including an interim headmaster for another year, are on the table, according to Hackett.
When addressing why they are having a hard time finding someone to lead the school, Hackett cited and demand and difficulty of the job.

“We got great people at the high school, we will figure this out, and we will make sure we move in the right direction,” he said. “It truly is difficult to get the right person, not just for a principalship but the Braintree High School principalship.”
Braintree High School found themselves in need of a new headmaster after Jim Lee was named the new assistant superintendent. The first search resulted in outgoing Norwood High School Principal Jonathan Borne being named a finalist before it was announced that a new search would take place.
Hackett said he hopes to have an update in a couple of weeks.
