Braintree Dancer in South Shore Ballet's 'Nutcracker'
South Shore Ballet Theatre's mission is to provide pre-professional and recreational ballet training in a nurturing environment to dancers of all ages on the South Shore.
Braintree's Emilija Balandyte is among the dancers starring in South Shore Ballet Theatre's sixth annual production of "Nutcracker."
"With over 75 local South Shore children in the cast, this is a show you cannot afford to miss," the theatre said in a press release. "This year SSBT will say goodbye to six seniors, many who have been dancing at SSBT since their doors opened."
The four performances of The Nutcracker are Saturday, Dec. 14 and Sunday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Performances will be in Hingham at Derby Academy. Tickets on sale Nov. 15. All seats are reserved. Tickets are $16. Stop by the school at 24 Rockland St, Hanover or call 781-312-7224.

SSBT was founded in 2008 by Marthavan McKeon. South Shore Ballet Theatre's mission is to provide pre-professional and recreational ballet training in a nurturing environment to dancers of all ages on the South Shore.
In their sixth year, and with a student body of nearly 200 ballet students, SSBT is growing and has gained a foothold in the local ballet community. SSBT students have been accepted to, and attended prestigious summer intensive programs across the United States like American Ballet Theatre, Houston Ballet Academy, Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet, Bossov Ballet Theatre, Ballet West, North Carolina School for the Arts, Kirov Academy, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Next Generation, Kaatsbaan, Washington Ballet, Miami Ballet, Carolina Ballet and Alvin Ailey.
SSBT offers classes for dancers age 3 to adult and is located just off of Route 53 on Route 139 in Hanover – not far from the Pembroke town line and a quick five minute drive from Rte 3. SSBT’s expansive studios cover 5700+ sq ft and offer professionally sprung floors, custom mirrors & barres and live musical accompaniment.
