Braintree Food Establishment Inspection Reports: June 2013

There were 28 health inspections in Braintree in June. Three establishments had critical violations that were resolved upon reinspection.

During the month of June, the Braintree Department of Municipal Licenses and Inspections conducted 28 inspections of establishments in town that serve food. The following is a sampling of violations from those reports.

Marybeth McGrath, director of Department of Municipal Licenses and Inspections, said inspectors are encourages to denote positives at their inspections. The reports below only include "critical" violations.

The reports are as written by Braintree health inspectors and include the date on which the violations were resolved.

Maria's, 240 Quincy Avenue, June 11

  • Toxic Chemicals: Remove all insect strips. Correction verified on June 13.
  • Posting of Consumer Advisories: Provide all allergy and consumer advisories on lunch menu. Correction verified on June 13.
Elena's Cafe, 66 Brooks Drive, June 18
  • Food Contact Surfaces Cleaning and Sanitizing: Dishwasher hooked up to chlorine sanitizer. Water too hot, which kills chlorine. The violation was removed following a plumber's report.
Braintree House of Pizza, 958 Washington Street, June 26
  • Separation/Segregation/Protection: Properly protect food and food containers in the basement. Currently under service line. The violation was corrected within 24 hours.
