Braintree High Grad Timberlake Taken By Celtics Affiliate In G League Draft
The former Towson and Kansas standout was taken in the second round of the recent draft.
MAINE — Braintree High School graduate and former University of Kansas basketball player Nicolas Timberlake was selected in the 2025 NBA G League draft.
Timberlake, who was a standout at Towson before transferring to Kansas, was taken by the Maine Celtics with the 23rd pick in the second round.
Timberlake graduated from Braintree High School in 2017 and attended Kimball Union the following year, where he was selected to the Class AA All-New England Preparatory School Athletic Council Team.

As a redshirt freshman in 2019, he was named Colonial Athletic Association Sixth Man of the Year, beginning his ascension into a prominent role at Towson.
Timberlake averaged 17.7 points per game this past year for the Tigers while proving to be a marksman from deep, shooting 42 percent from three-point range.

He joined Kansas as Towson's all-time leader in three-pointers made and attempted. In his one year at Kansas, he averaged 5 points and 2 rebounds per game in a depth role.
In the 2024-2025 season, Timberlake averaged 9 points and 2 rebounds per game while playing overseas in Portugal.
