Braintree Honoring The Late Nelson Chin With Family Fun Day
Before his death, Nelson Chin served as Braintree's recreation director for more than eight years and was an avid youth soccer volunteer.

BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree will honor the life of former Recreation Director Nelson Chin by holding a family fun day.
"Nelson Chin Day" will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 25th, at French's Common next to Braintree Town Hall.
Chin, 66, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, due to complications with COVID-19. For more than eight years, Chin served as recreation director and spent countless hours volunteering with Braintree Youth Soccer.

"This is such a great way to honor Nelson’s legacy," Mayor Charles Kokoros said. "He was a staunch supporter of all Braintree’s youth organizations and could always be seen at every community event in town. Nelson Chin Day pays tribute to everything Nelson did for our community."
Residents of all ages are welcome to attend for some family fun. The afternoon will include games, prizes, inflatable bounce houses, and food and drinks will be provided. Parking will be available at Braintree Town Hall, Thayer Public Library and at Sunset Lake.
