Officers McNamara and Hale performed CPR on a Braintree guest that had seized and stopped breathing during the course of an investigation. Through their quick thinking and joint medical intervention, they were able to restore breathing and revive the individual. The person was taken by ambulance and made a full recovery.
Officer Dias responded to a Braintree home that was engulfed in flames. Disregarding his own safety, he ran into the home and rescued an elderly resident unable to exit from within the home in his wheelchair. The resident informed Police that his wife was still inside the home. Ofc. Dias ran back into the heavy smoke a second time and found the other resident. Ofc. was disoriented and feared he also would not make it out alive but thankfully found the exit and carried the resident out of the home.
