The second Widowmaker location will feature food from the people behind the Bone and Bread food truck. Here's what to know.

BRAINTREE, MA — The Braintree-based Widowmaker Brewing is set to open a second location in the Boston area, the business announced recently.

Widowmaker Tap Room & Kitchen will open later this year at 190 North Beacon St. in Brighton, brewery officials said.

A logo has been placed on the building, but there are still hurdles to clear before they can open doors on the new space.

"We have a lot going on right now as it pertains to federal, state, and local licensing as well as continuing the build out to meet our needs and most importantly give a great experience to our future guests," officials said.

The Braintree location will remain open for business, Widowmaker officials said, trying to quell any concerns locals may have.

But the new location will feature a could of exciting new features.

First, the Brighton location will feature a permanent kitchen space operated by the folks behind Bone and Bread food truck, who will bring their operation into the brewery. Second, an active production brewery will also be included in the new space.

"We can’t thank the neighborhood locals and local officials enough for their initial warm welcoming and their continued interest as we work daily to get the space ready," Widowmaker said.
