City Of Braintree: Work Progress Update For South Middle School Project

The School Building Committee would like to inform residents of the upcoming work schedule for the South Middle School project.  As you have probably seen, site fencing and erosion control has been installed at the perimeter of the site and the construction entrance has been installed at Peach Street.

In the coming weeks the following work is anticipated to be undertaken on or about the following dates:

Site Clearing January 26, 2022 to February 8, 2022

Pre-Blast Survey January 25, 2022 to January 31, 2022

Blasting and rock removal February 9, 2022 to March 8, 2022

Blasting will occur below the existing soil surface with little or no surface movement or vibration anticipated. Blast mats will be placed on top of the existing ground surface to prevent soil displacement. Warning horns will sound prior to each blasting sequence. Similar updates will be provided at regular intervals.
