Dick's Will Replace Closing Nordstrom Location At South Shore Plaza

BRAINTREE, MA — Residents of two mall-occupied homes won't have to wait long to find what will replace Nordstrom locations there.

Simon, the real statement investment trust that owns both the South Shore Plaza and Northshore Mall locations, announced that two Dick's locations will take over the closing Nordstrom locations.

DICK’s House of Sport will open at Northshore Mall, and a "multifaceted" DICK’s Sporting Goods will open at South Shore Plaza, Simon officials said.

Both locations are scheduled to open in 2026.

With the addition of Northshore Mall, the number of DICK’S House of Sport locations across Simon’s nationwide portfolio of properties will grow to six, along with over 40 DICK’s Sporting Goods locations.

Recently transformed by a multimillion-dollar redevelopment project, Northshore Mall serves the coastal communities north of Boston and features more than 140 specialty stores, dining and entertainment venues. South Shore Plaza is the premier shopping and dining destination south of Boston, offering over 200 retailers.

DICK'S House of Sport is an approximately 100,000+ square foot store that provides customers with an incredible assortment of products along with in-store experiences including a climbing wall, multiple golf bays with TrackMan™ simulators, and HitTrax™ multi-sport cages that can be used for baseball, softball and soccer.
