Man Indicted In South Shore Plaza Shooting To Be Arraigned May 13

BRAINTREE, MA - A Maynard man indicted last month for murder and weapons charges in the January 22 fatal shooting at Braintree's South Shore Plaza will be arraigned in Norfolk Superior Court on May 12 at 9 a.m., the Norfolk County District Attorney's office said Thursday.
A Norfolk County grand jury indicted Julius Hammond-Desir on April 25 on murder and weapons charges in the shooting death of Dijoun C. Beasley, 26, of Dorchester.
Hammond-Desir is accused of shooting Beasley in the head at around 3 p.m. on January 22 near the exit to Forever 21 in the mall on January 22. Beasley was shopping with his girlfriend, who was pushing a baby in a stroller. Beasley was transported to a Boston hospital where he was later died that evening.

The grand jury also indicted Samantha Schwartz on April 25 for accessory after the fact of the murder and carrying a firearm, according to the DA's office.
Schwartz, 27, of Attleboro, entered a plea of not guilty at her January 28 Quincy District Court arraignment and was ordered held on $20,000 cash bail.
