BRAINTREE, MA - A Norfolk County grand jury on Monday indicted Julius Hammond-Desir for murder and weapons charges in the January 22 fatal shooting at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree, according to Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey.
“State Police homicide detectives assigned to the district attorney’s office and Braintree police have been working closely with Assistant District Attorney Anne Yas as evidence was developed and presented to the grand jury,” Morrissey said. “We are thankful to the grand jurors and detectives for their work. These indictments move the prosecution of the murder of Dijoun Beasley to the Norfolk Superior Court.”
Hammond-Desir is accused of shooting Beasley, 26, in the head at around 3 p.m. near the exit to Forever 21 in the mall on January 22. Beasley was shopping with his girlfriend, who was pushing a baby in a stroller. Beasley was transported to a Boston hospital where he was later died that evening.
