New Sneaker Store, Golf Lounge Among South Shore Plaza Additions

BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree sneakerheads and golf aficionados alike can rejoice, as a number of new stores are set to open at South Shore Plaza.

South Shore Plaza announced four new store openings for the fall of 2023 with more planned for the upcoming holiday shopping season. In addition, four stores have or will relocate to larger spaces in the shopping center.

Construction for the new retailers began this spring — among them are Courtside Kicks, AKIRA, Kong Dog and Golf Lounge 18.

Courtside Kicks provides "authentic, hard-to-find sneakers and streetwear apparel and will open their doors in early October," officials said.

Joining the center by the end of the year will be AKIRA, a high-end boutique carrying private labels in addition to brands like Jeffrey Campbell and For Love and Lemons.

Kong Dog, a national and fast-expanding Korean corn dog spot, has made itself at home among South Shore Plaza’s dining options.

Lastly, Golf Lounge 18 will provide a "state-of-the-art facility perfect for shoppers to hit the range, join a league, get a private lesson or play 18 holes with friends."

Relocations of current retailers in the shopping center include Pandora, Dellaria Salons, Verizon, and Sleep Number, which offer larger spaces to businesses.
