No Braintree Pizza Palooza In 2018

The annual fundraiser for the Braintree Fourth of July parade was a victim of its own success.

BRAINTREE, MA — Can there be such a thing as too much success? That's the case for the annual Braintree Pizza Palooza.

The yearly contest for local pizza superiority has been called off for 2018, Pizza Palooza Event Coordinator Mike Wilcox announced on the Braintree Fourth of July Facebook page. The reason? It was just too popular.

"Unfortunately, the overwhelming success of this event put an overwhelming logistical burden on some of Braintree’s smallest businesses," Wilcox wrote.
