Self-Driving Car Testing Could Come To Braintree
nuTonomy Inc. is hoping to bring expanded self-driving car testing to 15 communities.

BOSTON, MA — Don't be surprised to see a car driving down Granite Street but no one in the car has their hands on the wheels in the future.
nuTonomy Inc. received approval from Boston officials to expand the use of their self-driving cars beyond the Seaport District and Thursday, the Baker Administration is expected to give the ok for testing in other communities near Boston.
The proposed nearby towns, according to the Boston Globe, has 15 towns including Braintree, Weymouth, Brookline, Newton, Revere, and Somerville.

It may be some time before the car hits the Braintree streets. NuTonomy is expected to take their time when it comes to new areas and the state's process to craft the rule for testing in other cities and towns could take months.
Like city testing, the newly expanded testing will require a person in the driver's seat in case something goes wrong.
