The storm that crippled the Tuesday commute otherwise passed through Braintree with little affect, dropping five inches on the town but causing no major problems.
An on-street parking ban, instituted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, will expire at 3 p.m. Wednesday. The vast majority of residents heeded the ban and the police department had a relatively slow night, Chief Russell Jenkins said in an email.
"We had very few storm related issues with either snow storm (including last weekend's)," Jenkins said. "Last night we towed a handful of vehicles that were impeding snow removal and were able to contact several other vehicle owners to have them move their cars."
Jenkins said he was grateful to residents for paying attention to the snow emergency Tuesday, as well as the ban over the weekend, so that plow crews could keep the streets clear.
No power outages were reported during the storm, according to Braintree Electric Light Department GM William Bottiggi.
Temperatures are expected to rise throughout the rest of the week, which should be mostly clear, with possible showers Friday night through Sunday night, according to the National Weather Service.
