The Town of Braintree began its annual flushing program this week. You may experience dirty water during this period and we ask for your patience and understanding during the process. The hours of flushing will be from 7 pm until 5 am Monday – Thursday and should have a minimal effect on the water distribution system.

Signs will be posted on MAIN STREETS in the areas that the flushing will occur and the program should be completed by the end of August.

Please refrain from doing laundry during these hours and always check to ensure that your water is running clear before resuming laundry activities. If it is not clear then run your water until it is and then run your washing machine without a load in it to prevent the possibility of iron stains. The Town of Braintree will not be responsible for damages to laundry due to maintenance work on the water distribution system.

Thank you for your cooperation during this important process. If you should have any questions or concerns, please free to call our office Monday, Wednesday or Thursday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Tuesday from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm or Friday from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm.
