BRAINTREE, MA — The Massachusetts Port Authority has ended its contract with the national firm contracted to collect revenue from three Logan Express sites after it was found that four contractors with the company were stealing that revenue, officials said.

Three employees who worked for ABM Industry Groups collecting revenue at the Braintree site and one who did the same at the Framingham site will face criminal charges for the alleged theft, officials said.

Neither the names of those employees, nor the charges they face, have been released.

The alleged thefts also prompted Massport to end its relationship with ABM Indsutry Groups, who the port authority contracted to run revenue collection and operations at Logan Express locations in Braintree, Framingham and Danvers.

Officials said they were made aware of the potential theft of bus ticket revenue theft thanks to a tip submitted to Massport's hotline. State police have been notified, and worked with the organization to investigate the matter.

That investigation began this June in Braintree, when it was discovered that cash payments for bus tickets were stolen by three employees. The investigation then moved to Framingham, where officials found theft happening by another contractor in August.

Port Authority officials said they have hired Deloitte to conduct an audit of each express site managed by ABM.

In the meantime, officials said a new company will begin overseeing operations at the sites next month.
