Basketball Coaches Needed For Burlington Rec. Department Programs
The department has open coaching positions in grades two through eight.
BURLINGTON, MA — The Burlington Parks and Recreation Department is in need of basketball coaches for a series of winter youth teams, the department announced on Monday.
Open positions include coaching roles in basketball programs for players in grades two through eight, officials said this week. The department has a mix of both paid and volunteer positions available.
Practices will take place once-per-week on either a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday night.

In-house scrimmages will then take place on Saturdays in either the morning or afternoon, depending on grade level, as noted in the Parks and Recreation Department's announcement.
“If you or someone you know enjoys playing basketball and wants to share a love of the sport with young players, this job might be for you!” the department said.

Registration began for Burlington winter recreation programs earlier this month. Shared ahead of the start of registration, the Parks and Recreation Department's winter programming brochure included a variety of basketball options for young people and adults.
Youth basketball programming is scheduled to begin next month and continue into either February or March of next year, depending on grade level.
Beyond youth programming, the town is offering an adult pickup basketball program running between January and mid-March.
